Introduction
The Government Opium and Alkaloid factory(GOAW), Ghazipur was established by the East India Company in 1820. It comprises of two separate Units, viz. the Opium Factory and Alkaloid Works.In1945, the factory began extracting Alkaloids in addition to processing opium.

- Codeine Phosphate
- Codeine Sulphate
- Dionine
- Morphine Hydrochloride
- Morphine Sulphate
- Narcotine
- Opium powder/cake
- Thebaine
- Papaverine
